Cybercrime is an illegal act that involves a computer, system or applications. Cybercrime is  stimulated by fraud, large numbers of phishing emails which mainly planned to steal personal information of individual. The most common tools that people can obviously detect are Trojan horses (viruses) and also spyware. Phishing is online fraud game, while phishers can be classified as technology-savvy scam person and identity thieves. These people will use spam inside our email account as a medium to send a fake email requiring our information. Here, they will pretend like they are from a valid and established company which  required our personal information to be updated or they might ask us for password. Furthermore, they also will create a fake Web sites as a technique to trick people to give personal details, such as bank or credit card account numbers. Another part that people should know about this crime is those thieves will create a new account from the password given to them using the same name and start to steal. They also will take all money you have in your account if they successfully get your bank account number. Our personal details also have a potential to be sold in the black market for a profit. 


 What is Pharming?


Pharming is an activity where the pharmers will re-directs victims to the fake web site even though the person type the right URL of the website they wanted to surf. Pharmers attempted to load spyware and adware onto victim machines as we often see the pop up advertisement or website when we open up certain website.

What you can do if you are a victim?


  • Disconnect immediately. Definitely unplug the network cable from your computer
  • Scan your computer with updated anti virus software which are available in a large number in market now.
  • Create a back up for your personal data in case of loosing any of it because of the theft.
  • Close affected accounts immediately to avoid loosing your savings or important private details.
  • Make a police report. This might give the police complete information to bring the criminal to justice. On the other hand, you also can keep and use a copy of the police report as an evidence to show to your creditors.
  • Keep monitoring your details and account regularly.
